FAQ's
Below we have listed some FAQ's, however if there's any questions you have that are not covered, please feel free to contact us.
Q. What forms of payment does Designerpaintstore.com accept?
A. We accept most major debit and credit cards. However, we cannot accept cheques, and we do not accept American Express. We also allow payments through Pay Pal.
Q. When do I pay for my order?
A. All orders must be paid for prior to delivery. We do not allow payment on delivery or over the telephone.
Q. What happens when my order has been received?
A. Once your order has been placed you will receive a confirmation e-mail with the details of your order, and your order number. If you need to contact us about anything at all, please have this number to allow us to track your order down more quickly. You can call us Monday - Saturday from 9am - 5pm on 01530 564375
Q. When will my order arrive?
A. If you place an order before 2.00pm and the items are in stock, they will be dispatched that day and delivered the next working day. However, due to many issues out of our control, we cannot guarantee next day delivery, and the order will only be dispatched when all the items are in stock. If this is the case, please allow 3 - 4 working days for delivery.
Q. Can my order be sent to a different address?
A. Yes, during the ordering process, you will have the option to type in the address you wish your order to go to. We recommend having your order delivered to the same address as the one registered to the credit or debit card being used to pay.
However, your order can be delivered to a convenient location, such as work, or a friend or relative that you know will be available to take delivery if you are out. We will verify the delivery address before dispatch, if different from the card holders address, this process may delay your order being dispatched.
Q. Are colours displayed on my computer screen 100% accurate?
A. Computer screens are all different, and have different settings on them, meaning that they cannot represent a colour consistently or accurately, and should only ever be used as a guide to the colour you're looking at. We strongly recommend that you purchase a sample pot and test the colour in situ before committing to a larger size.
Q. What type of paint is right for me?
A. We have designed this site to give as much information as possible about the different products and finishes available. However, if you are unsure what's best for you, we recommend that you give us a call, this way we can advise you as best we can on the right paints for the job you're doing.
Q. Do you take orders over the telephone?
A. No. Designerpaintstore.com has been designed to take your order, delivery details and payment with as little fuss and room for error as possible. This is also the most secure way for you to pay.
Q. What if the product I have received is faulty?
A. If the products you have received are faulty in any way, we will either refund your money or provide a replacement free of charge. You can send the details through to enquiries@designerpaintstore.com, or you can call us on 01530 564375, and we will do everything we can to resolve the problem as swiftly as possible. For faulty products, we must be contacted within 30 days of receiving your order, claims outside of this period will not be considered.
Please be aware that cans of painted tinted to order can be slightly different and should be boxed together where possible.
Q. I want to Click and Collect my paint, is this possible?
A. Yes, if you would like to collect your order rather than having it sent out you can. Simply use our click and collect option in the checkout area. You will receive an e-mail when your order has been processed and is ready for you to collect. You can collect from Ashby Decorator Centre, 2 Derby Road, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, LE65 2HE (opposite the Co-op)
Q. Can I return paint that has been tinted?
A. No. Once a colour chosen by you has been mixed, it cannot be returned. When ordering a mixed colour, please be sure the colour and paint type are correct, as we cannot refund or exchange mixed paints once tinted as these are classed as bespoke products. Please note that Farrow and Ball paints are tinted to order on our Farrow and Ball tinting machine.
Q. How much will the delivery cost be on my order?
A. Our standard carriage charge to mainland UK addresses if £6.95 - this includes VAT. If your order value is over £100.00 inc VAT, delivery will be free. Please be aware that deliveries to remote locations may have an increase delivery charge and take extra time to arrive. Please see Delivery Information.

Q. Do you tint colour matches into cheaper paints like Johnstone's?
A. No. We only ever sell, genuine designer paints. We do not believe in attempting to replicate colours and finishes into lower quality products. Paints produced by designer brands use unique pigments and have unique paint finishes to them that cannot be accurately replicated. Designer paints are made with the highest quality materials and ingredients. Colour pallets from designer brands are designed to work perfectly together down to the finest detail and have been painstakingly crafted to make your decorating look perfect. Colour matches and cheaper paints do not perform as well in different lights and won't perform as well over time leading to disappointment. Thats the difference between minutes to match and months to craft. A match is the wrong colour mixed into the wrong paint.
"Paint is like coffee. The colour is the froth on the top, but it’s the quality of the rest of the cup that makes it taste good."
– Richard Ball, Farrow & Ball Co-founder

Q. Do you ship to countries outside the UK?
A. We do not currently ship outside of the UK.
Q. Where are you based?
A. We are based in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. Our paint shop is open 6 days a week, selling designer paints and wallpapers. See Contact for more information.
Q. Do you have any other recommendations?
A. We recommend that you use purchase a sample pot of the colour you would like before committing to a larger order. This is the best way to make sure that the colour you have chosen is the right one. Different lights, times of the day, and other objects in the room like furniture or carpet colour can have an effect on colour. This is especially true with high quality, high pigment designer paints.
It is important to make sure that the type of paint you are ordering is correct and suitable for your plans. Making sure the paint finish is correct will allow you to decorate with confidence, you will experience better results, and your decorating will look better for much longer.
We recommend ordering and receiving your paints before booking a decorator. This will allow for any unexpected delays.
